Winter returns
After winds that the First People of Montana call
a chinook (snow eater), we had two weeks of mild weather in
December and early January that did, indeed, eat the snow.
However, during the weekend of January 23-24 the snow came back with
all its beauty, at least a foot of it. Sister Jane enjoyed taking pictures,
as you can see and we are enjoying the beauty and silence all around
us. How conducive to prayer.

New
Statue of St. Francis
In a raffle in Cutbank, Montana,
the winner of a hand carved statue made by Father Michael Drury
was the prize. However, since the original winner did not accept
it the women of the PCCW (Parish Council of Catholic Women) donated
it to our monastery. Above you see the four of us with the statue
in our chapel. Father Drury came to take pictures of it. To the
left is the statue

New
Habits
When we first came to Great Falls ten years ago,
because we came from four different communities and had four different
habits, we decided to wear skirts and blouses as a temporary habit.
In September Sister Rita Cheong came for a week to help us design and
make our new habits.
Wind Turbines
We have been approved for a grant from Northwest
Energy to cover the cost of wind turbines and installation. We
are now waiting for the equipment to be delivered and installed when
the weather permits.
